A little about Dr. Iverson

He is originally from Chicago and has lived and practiced in Colorado for over 30 years, serving in mostly outpatient public settings but also in private settings, inpatient and outpatient facilities and on the streets with people experiencing homelessness. He has extensive experience in correctional settings, and in the courts and more. He is double board certified in General and Forensic Psychiatry. In addition to working with many clients who struggle with serious, sometimes life-threatening conditions, he has also served on state committees alongside friends and colleagues with lived experience. Dr. Iverson believes strongly in and always supports a persons’s right to personal autonomy and self-determination. (You know…when you get down to it, we all have lived-experience with anxiety, fear, depression, alternate reality and despair.) His experience is extensive and broad: hopefully he can help you with whatever ails you.

What to expect in treatment

His perference is for face-to-face meetings. He believes that ‘screens’ are not so good for us…and research is starting to confirm that. (However, screens are certainly helpful and useful tools.) Occasional telephone meetings may be possible after we get to know each other better.

You’ll receive a comprehensive first-time psychiatric evaluation, usually 50 minutes. And follow up appointments at an agreed-upon interval thereafter, usually 25 minutes.

Please be aware that I do not prescribe DEA-controlled medications like Valium, Ativan, Adderall and Ritalin.
